Sharjah International Airport (SHJ) is located in the emirate of Sharjah. It is only half an hour by road from Dubai and is tremendously helping in easing traffic at Dubai airport. In order to reach Dubai from there, one can hire a taxi, board the Sharjah Airport City-Link bus, or can rent a car from any of the car rental agency.
Maktoum International (JXB), formerly known as "Dubai World Central", is gigantic airport and is under construction near Jebel Ali, South of Dubai, in the UAE. It is designed to support Dubai’s aviation, tourism, commercial and logistics requirements until 2050 and will start taking cargo flights in 2008, but passenger services are still a few years away.
